Prof. Dr. K. C. Sahoo
It is with a heavy heart that we state Professor K C Sahoo, Former professor and HOD, Dept of Radiation Oncology, a renowned radiation oncologist and a pioneer in the field of cancer care, passed away on July 5, 2024. He was a dedicated and compassionate doctor who served as a beacon of hope for countless patients and families at Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer (AHPGIC), Cuttack.
Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Sahoo was known for his exceptional clinical acumen, innovative approach, and unwavering commitment to improving cancer treatment outcomes. He was a distinguished alumnus of the medical fraternity, having completed his MBBS in 1954 and MD in 1975. He served as the Former Professor and Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at AHPGIC, Cuttack, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the department and mentoring numerous students and colleagues.
His contributions to the field of radiation oncology have left an indelible mark, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of medical professionals. Prof. Sahoo’s passing is a profound loss to the medical community, his patients, and their families. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the many lives that will continue to be improved through his work.His timely donation to the making of lecture hall of AHPGIC was tremendous and institute is ever greatful for that.

Madam Dr. Pravas Manjari Pattanayak
3.11.1945 to 16.09.2023
Madam Dr. Pravas Manjari Pattanayak of Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer left for her heavenly abode on 16.09.2023 (8.30 pm) after a brief illness at the age of only 78. She was a live member of AROI (337) and founder member of ICRO (008). She was a very good academician and an affectionate teacher. She started her carrier as senior lecture and served almost two decades in patients treatment and teaching students at Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer. She played a pivotal role as Vice President AROI (Odisha State Chapter). She successfully conducted two National Annual Conference (AROI) during her tenure.
With deep sorrow and anguish we express our deepest condolences at this hour of grief to the bereaved family. May lord Jagannath give strength to her children, near & dear once to bear this irreparable loss.
